The release window for Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis has been uncovered — you’ll be able to play this game on Android and iOS this September.
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis takes the events of the original Final Fantasy 7, reimagines them, and adjusts the gameplay for mobile devices. It also makes changes to the monetization model: this is going to be a free-to-play game with cosmetic loot boxes. It will also explore related media aside from the base game such as the movie Advent Children and the spinoff game Dirge of Cerberus.
First announced in February 2021Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis was one of two new Final Fantasy 7 games that were announced by Square Enix for mobile devices. Final Fantasy 7: The FIrst Soldier was that other new game that was announced; it’s a Battle Royale that takes place prior to the events of Final Fantasy 7.
Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier has been out on mobile for a few months now, but we still didn’t have much in the way of information about Ever Crisis. That has changed with the recent release of a financial report which gives us an idea of when we can expect to play this other Final Fantasy 7 spinoff.
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis Release Date Window slice
The Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis release date is expected to be sometime in September 2022 according to reporting from GameBiz (via Siliconera); a more specific release date has not yet been announced.
It should be noted, however, that Ever Crisis is planning to launch with a “chapter-structured” format. That means we likely won’t have access to the entire game on day 1 when it launches later this year.
For now, there’s not much else to do other than wait for this mobile adaptation of Final Fantasy 7’s story to make its way to phones. You can learn more about the game on its official website.

I’ve had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven’t stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs – I’ve tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I’m always looking to try more!
